Stimple & Ward can supply your electric coil needs for all types of AC Motor Coils for Induction motors, Synchronous AC Motors, Wound Rotor, and lesser known designs. Whether repairing one motor coil, or manufacturing hundreds of motor coils, we manufacture AC motor coils to your specifications, and/or industry standard specifications, economically and according to your scheduled needs. Our products are proudly made in the United States.
Unlike a DC Motor which uses direct current much like the way a battery powers a flashlight, an AC Motor uses alternating current to generate electricity which creates magnetic fields. There are two components to an AC Motor, the first is the outside of the motor referred to as the “Stator”. It consists of a ring of electromagnets that generate an electromagnetic field that rotates around the outside of the motor. The side of the motor is called the “Rotor” and is suspended inside the stator.
As the stator creates a rotating magnetic field that is constantly changing which produces an electrical power current in the rotor. There are many designs of AC motors, but the power generation is consistent with the example above.
We manufacture stator coils for machines up to 7000 volts and with coil lengths up to 90". Coil insulation systems include Dipped & Baked and VPI types.
Our rotor coil capabilities include synchronous and wound rotor designs. Of the synchronous designs, we can supply complete pole assemblies including edge wound or wire wound coil, pole, collars, amortisseur bars, and shorting segments.
Stimple & Ward Company manufactures turbine rotor coils up to 10 feet in length. These coils are manufactured with extreme care and precision.
